How to - Remove and refit the Genius Radiator Valve

If a Genius Radiator Valve needs to be removed from a radiator it cannot be just unscrewed it needs to be put into 'Mount Mode' first.

These steps are very important to follow; so that you do not damage the valve when you are taking it off or putting it onto a radiator.

To remove the Genius Radiator Valve

  • Press and hold the front button on the valve until a 'M' appears on the screen.

  • Press the middle button once more, and the valve will 'buzz'.
    • After 10 seconds the 'M' will flash and the valve will feel loose.
  • Rotate the Device until you can see the back of the device and firmly push down the button whilst pulling up on the battery cover. This will remove the battery cover from the device
    • Now that the shell has been removed, press & hold the same button the battery cover was in front of whilst turning the device anti-clockwise.
    • M30 adaptor: The adaptor is most likely to remain with the Genius Radiator Valve, but if it remains on the radiator this is not a problem.
    • RA adaptor: The adaptor should remain on the radiator, but can easily be removed using a hex key.

To refit the Genius Radiator Valve

  • Screw the Genius Radiator Valve back onto the radiator valve body clockwise.

  • Press and hold the front button on the valve until the 'M' stops flashing the the valve will 'buzz'.
  • The valve is successfully mounted back on the radiator when the screen shows the target temperature when you press the middle button, and it is stiff if you try to rotate the valve.
  • If the battery cover is not installed, either line up the buttons at the back of the device, or the screen and clear screen cover, and gently push the battery cover down until it clicks.

  • If the Genius Radiator Valve screen is facing the wrong way, rotate the device clockwise until the screen faces the front. The device will click as it rotates, but this will not loosen the device from the radiator.
